Welcome to Sensors and Data Acquisition

PXI-based system captures up to 2Tbyte

New from Conduant Corp is a PXIbus data capture system supporting up to eight Serial ATA disk drives

The StreamStor PXI-808 real-time recorder and playback disk controller and Big River DM4 1U rack mount chassis deliver 200Mbyte/s of sustained performance, reliability and security for laboratory and benchtop instrumentation applications. Conduant's PXI disk controller provides compatibility with National Instruments' LabView software and PC-based instrumentation hardware.
Serial output from one StreamStor PXI-808 disk controller connected to two DM4 units will accommodate up to 2Tbyte of online data storage.

'Conduant's latest PXI offering provides a cost effective advantage to 32bit users coupled with a significant performance increase', said Tom Skrobacz, Conduant's VP of Business Development.

'Extending our product line to support PXI offers our customers a highly configurable and dependable solution with performance up to 200Mbyte/s, the fastest in the industry'.

Ray Almgren, National Instruments' Vice President of Product Marketing, added: 'When Conduant's direct-to-disk StreamStor and Big River recording technology is combined with LabView and PXI, engineers can generate and acquire complex signals for extraordinarily long time periods'.

'With up to 2Tbyte of memory depth, this solution opens up a new world of terabyte instrumentation for both rugged industrial and performance research applications'.

The StreamStor PXI-808 disk controller is now available at $7310.

The Big River DM4 rack-mount chassis supporting Serial ATA drives is available at $2860.
